persia: jackalopes are fairly cool though. mind you, as it's a mythical beast, I wonder if we'll only talk about the release rather than actually releasing something.
in
mark's announcement about jaunty jackalope he says,
"there are some specific goals that we need to meet in jaunty. one of
them is boot time."
part of the boot time problem is gnome's, and I have an idea of how to fix this. this idea isn't crystal clear and a few bits need to be well thought and discussed. i am getting ready a spec (trying to make it as technically detailed and closest to blueprint done as possible) for uds mountain view to lead and discuss this topic.
the key here is: will fixing this be a mythical beast or will we get help from ubuntu and it's community to make gnome's boot time faster? and in the way fixing gconf (so not only boot time will improve) ;)
keep tuned... more to come.
